Travel: Relocation assistance, expectations

If you are being asked to relocate for a position, it is important to protect yourself.
It is standard to receive 2 weeks accommodation in a hotel or equivalent decent space.

Travel recompense, either a plane ticket in advance or often unfortunately recently artists are being asked to front this cost for later reimbursement.  At MPC, it took nearly 3 months to be recompensed personally. This can be very costly if the balance is sitting on a high interest credit card.  Be aware of the costs involved and ask for what is reasonable. Know what is common and uncommon.

If you have personal arrangements in an area already, ask for equivalent compensation of the relocation package.

If artists lower their standards, one by one they degrade the foundation we are all dependent on.  Know your worth.
